How Can Research Managers Adapt to Europe's Evolving EDI Policies?

On December 2, I had the opportunity to attend an event organized by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) in Brussels. The workshop, "How Can Research Managers Adapt to Europe's Evolving EDI Policies?", brought together an inspiring mix of managers, policymakers and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) experts to discuss strategies to foster inclusivity in the evolving European research landscape to inaguarate the EARMA thematic group Equality, Culture, Diversity and Inclusion (ECDI).

It was exciting to learn about EU gender equality policies from Katerina Svickova (Head of Gender Sector DG R&I, European Commission) and also hear actionable ideas for managing while promoting a more inclusive and diverse research ecosystem from Jakob Feldtfos Christensen (DIVERSIunity). This event allowed me to network, share ideas, and reflect on similarities and differences between European and Australian research landscapes in EDI policies.

A big thankyou to EARMA for creating the ECDI group and organizing such an enriching event. I'm looking forward to more initiatives like this in the future!
